Drifting is unlike any other form of
automobile based motorsport. Like traditional motorsports there is a
starting line and a finish line, but the similarities end there.
Instead of being a timed event, drifting is judged on a few key areas
being: line, speed, angle and overall impact. The ability of the
driver to keep an acceptable racing line while maintaining a maximum
slip angle without losing speed will award the driver with a high
score.
The 'overall impact' portion is judged on the drivers
showmanship during his run and is usually based on the amount of tire
smoke and crowd reaction.
